I "inherited" a 1980 XS 1100 from a "friend" who stiffed me on a later model XS 1100 he never paid me for. The bike barely ran, and I checked the timing. The ignition back plate shows evidence of the mounting holes being drilled out to make an adjustment (probably because the vacumme advance doesn´t work.) My question (I know I should probably buy a service manual) is; the bolt holding the timing plate into the crank shaft is 6mm allen head, which direction must you turn the bolt (CW or CCW) to remove it for access to the electronic ignition?
