I bought a 79 Xl 250s and althouh it is a pretty decent bike for my first "dirt bike" I have what I believe to be a problem. Let me start you from the beginning. The bike has 1800 original miles and always starts on the first kick ALWAYS. The only "problem" is that it will not idle consistantly. I start it and ride for awhile and after it warms up it idles very fast, If I adjust the idle (small black wheel on carb.?) it idles fine for awhile then it will idle too low and stall, set the idle back up and the next thing you know it is racing again????? Any idea´s? The bike belonged to an "older" gentleman who passed on and upon his wife selling she sent it to a Honda dealer for a tune-up. I headed down to look at it before buying (90 miles away) and the people called and said when they started it to bring to the place I was to meet them it ran like crap. They sent it back to the Honda dealer who rebuilt the carb. I looked, it ran good, I bought......now it idles funny.
