Hi.
One of my daughters has bought what seems now, unmistakably, to be a Honda cb250n Super Dream 1979.
After having ridden it home for 200km from where she bought it, it simply won´t start again.
The spark plugs look pretty good. Holding them to the chassis produces a spark. Measuring with an ordinary digital multimeter between the cable and the sparkplug, shows 30 to 50 mA.
Petrol in the cilinders: sparkplug moist with petrol, can smell petrol at the exhaust; tried, several times, injecting petrol into the bore with a syringe: not one fire.
Tried jumpstarting with a car battery: one backfire. This was shortly after trying the fuel injection by hand. For about 30 seconds there were exhaust fumes, but I take it that was because of the manual fuel injections, because, trying the same jumpstart again very shortly after, there were no exhaust fumes, backfire or any sign of the motor wanting to fire up.
Up to now we have had no sign whatever of the motor even thinking of starting up, as if it had no fuel or no spark.
Our next objective is to figure out if there´s something wrong with the mixture, so: carburetor. My first guess is to fiddle around with the normally available settings for idle running and such. But how could a carburetor go so off after 200km´s riding?
I´m not a very technically versed guy, but I like to do what I can and try to understand.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
