AJ, I just got a 79 cx500 and had it put together by a professional mechanic as well. Mine runs fine cold, but loses power once warm. I don´t have a tachometer so I can´t tell at what rpms it looses, but I have to keep shifting up to gain power. When I start out my first can drag out a good long way, but after 20 minutes of riding I have to upshift in about 3 seconds (maybe around 7mph?). As soon as I go to second, power returns, but only for a second or so (mayb 15mph?) and then I have to switch to third and so on... If I downshift I lose power. Have you had any success in finding out what was wrong? |
