I thought I´d do a special post here for all you gear head like me who just AREN´T happy with stock things/performance. As with ANY engine theres MASS free power to be had. Slightly lean out your carbs(this will make it run a lil hotter though), advance your timing a hair, widen the gap on your spark plugs a bit too. It´ll be a lil harder to start, but DAM! Works good on track or highway. K,fuels...I run ONLY high test(98octain or better)or ethanol..(corn alchohol) Alch. makes it run cold. You´ll have to run this if you´ve shaved the heads. Pump gas is only good till 11:1 compression. After that point, you need alchohol or nitromethanol mixes. Once in a while I run ONE bottle of Nitro-methane to a FULL tank of ethanol gas. You can get it at ANY R.C. hobby store for about 20 bucks. (15-35% Nitro) A warning though, nitro will carbon your engine FAST! ok? So if ya have a stock exhaust, the calalynic´s gotta go or it´ll plug in no time.It WILL however jack up the horsepower A LOT. Its like a stock CX500-50-60HP..add a turbo-80ish HP ! I REALLY recommend porting your heads and intakes too. That lets a lot of free power out. Now; The unicorn I´m going to build out of MY CX 500, FULLY ported to the limits(done already) longer intake tubes(clear PVC works killer for that, and looks cool cause you get to see the fuel/air going into the engine, WAY bigger diameter headers, a set of GOOD pistons (Weisco´s ect..)Don´t skimp on the pistons..TRUST ME! and finally, I hope someone can help he out here, I´m gonna slap on a set of 650 TURBO carbs and turbo. At about 10:1 compression, its going to act like a supercharged/force fed engine. NO pump gas here. The motor will just eat itself!! I need someone to help me find a set of the UK carbs and turbo. It´ll be WAY expensive to buy new.. (:(( If all the calculations I and my buddies have done are right so far, It´ll dyno at new bullet bike specs..110-135-140HP.. NO joke.. Thats a calm estimate. With Nitro-methane it´ll make just about the 200HP zone. My old CB750(`78) with a stage 3 drag kit, and porting hit the 200-250 mark on PUMP GAS! I´d be thankful for ANY info on a workin turbo/carbs(--(650´s NOT 500´s). That´s my last stumbling block for \
