Got my first bike at 16, a Royal Enfield in 1961, so I am an old fart. I love British bikes and have a ´74 850 Commando, a 1970 TR6C, a Laverda 1200 TS Mirage, a 79 XS-650 Yamaha, an MZ TS250 plus a few other in-need-of-fix´in bikes in my shed. I bought a "79 CX 500 for $350 bucks the other day and with 30K on the odometer it runs great and I am able to ride with my 16 year old son on his Honda 350 Four and dont feel like I have to apologise for nothing. Yes, I would love to have a new BMW (I have had three in the past) or a Guzzi (I have never owned one but have aleays wanted one) or a Duke, but in consideration of my financial situation, the CX500 sets me free. It handles very well (to me) and while I could handle a few more HP, (who couldn´t) I am one old happy old camper.
