Early 2005 I purchased a 1979 Honda CX500 Custom with 7,000 miles. After a thorough tuneup, it was very dependable. During the next 1.5 years, I put another 15,000 miles on it. One day, I stopped at a light, it stalled, and hasn´t started again. Three different mechanics couldn´t get it started. One of them believes the pick-ups are the problem. The new problem is that the pick-ups must be replaced for $1,000 and I don´t have a guarantee that the bike will finally start. What can I do??? What is there about the pick-ups that could fail? Can they be corrected and not need replacing? It there a test that can prove the pick-up are faulty? |
