650SR Paint restoration query |

Hi Guys, I´m about to start restoring a 650SR that´s in reasonable condition. The paint job is intact with a few scratches and minor fading, particularly om the side panels. I´m tossing up whether to scrap the existing paint job and respray the bike (to original style and colour) or just keep what I´ve got. This is just a fun project and I have no real desire to ride or sell it. I just like the style of the bike. It was originally owned from new by a close friend. Question: Is it considered ´sacrilegious´ to respray an old bike when restoring it, or is this deemed OK? Cheers Jase |
