My SP has been in the family for a while now. My father owned it previously and had to move to a cruzer for arthritic reasons. Rather than see it go I sold my Kawasaki GT 750 (84) in order to keep the sp in the family. My exitement at getting the bike was short lived as cancer became eveident. The old man had let her go and now I have set about restoring this lovely old girl to her former glory. I just hope my pocket is deep enough! Parts in Australia are not so easy to come by. I still get stoped buy enthusiest and hear how the last time they had seen an SP was while traveling in Itally. I ride this bike everyday and while she hates being cold, once warm she goes like the clappers. With her low down grunt there isnt the need to trottle her neck to get away from the traffic at the lights and on the open road at 160km she sits on the road like a car. The faring is great for wind diflection althoug at 6´I had servere buffeting from the wind so I trimed the faring down, so that the wind hits the top of my sholders. The neek gets cold though. The misses loves the wide seat and the sheepskin cover on long rides makes sitting much easyer. When I go for rides with friends they get of their bikes rubbing elbos and lower backs, while I feel fine. I glad I found this page, I was starting to think that my sp was all alone and I was a fool to love my bike as I do. I look forward to checking in on this sight in the future to see who else is enjoying riding this fine peace of machinery. Scott.
