Odd ticking after warmup..

Hey I have a 1984 GPz 750 that sounds great when you first start it, then after about 5-7 min. it starts ticking from the right side near the head. The ticking speeds up as I accelerate, and does not happen on the left side. I figure that the valves need adjustment, but normally if your valves need to be adjusted the ticking will happen before the bike is warmed up then go away after. Any ideas on what this could be? Any help is greatly appreciated.
