i had that problem when i took out my fuel pump relais (i thought that is was the indicator lights relais). Then your fuel pump doesn´t work. When you leave your bike for a while fuel runs from the tank to the carbs and fills then because of gravity. If you run the engine you use that fuel faster then it can be replaced and the engine stops. Usually it loses power first. I hope this helps.
