i have a xl 500r but i am currently having problems. From the moment i bought it i had problems starting it and with the leg breaking compression every time i kicked it over, i lost intrest even though it a a pleasure to ride once it was started. After being stuck in my garage for about 6 months i decided to have a play about to see if i could find the problem. It started 2nd kick and first kick every time there after. It was fine for 2 months then while out for i ride i stopped for half hour for a break, but the bike wouldnt start again, when i did start it coughed and spluttered then backfired and died making some awfull noises as it did.It wont start now at all , and this problem has baffeld me im no machanic and dont want to try to find the problem without having a clue what it is. If anybody has any idea what this could be or where to start to look to find the problem it would be much appreaceated.
