I have owned an 84 rt for 15 years. I keep it stock except for I rejetted the carbs and punched the baffles out of my stock pipes.
This bike rocks. I inherited it from my father and will never let it go. If you have one and sell it you are a fool. They didnt make that many of em and a lot of them have been converted (fairing removed) by ignorant wanna be´s . I have the full touring pack with the leg lowers( I dont use the box or the leg lowers)The rubber boot around the chainis a great idea. I have like 48,000 miles on mine and ihave never replaced a chain. A lot of fools take this off as well , big mistake.
