I have owned a 1984 FXWG for the past 15 years. While it is a classic looking harley and has many good qualities. It is a bike you need to be prepared to work on and have a basic understanding of mechanics. You can not put the typical belt drive open primary on them due to the fact that the starter solenoid is mounted on the primary drive. You can get a belt for the inside of the primary however that is not the current style. I also have an issue with the gear box main shaft seal walking out along the shaft and oil from the primary drive leaking out the inside of the primary. Major deal to repair such a small issue. Lovely looking bikes however. |
