CHANGING FRONTENDS ON MY 78 FXE SUPERGLIDE WITH AN FXWG´S FRT |

I HAVE A 78 FXE SUPERGLIDE WITH A WIDEGLIDE FRONTEND WITH A 16" DUAL DISC WHEEL WITH 10" STOCK ROTORS..ORIGINAL STOCK SWINGARM FRAME.I´D LIKE SOME HELP FIGURING OUT IF THE FRONT END BELOW WILL FIT MY BIKE WITHOUT HAVING TO CHANGE ANYTHING LIKE THE LENGTH OF THE NEW FORK TUBES.WILL THEY BE LONG ENOUGH WITH THE 3 DEGREE RAKE TO RUN MY 16" WHEEL WITHOUT THE FRONTEND BEING TO LOW,MAKING THE FRAME TO LOW? ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.CHEERS,KIRK. These new-in-the-box +2" length polished dual-disc wideglide front end assemblies from Custom Chrome come complete with chrome upper and lower triple trees, hard chrome fork tubes, tube plugs, springs, polished lower legs and all internal components. The chrome triple trees feature late model 3-1/2 inch riser spacing and 3 degrees of rake built-in, just like the factory originals. Length is FXWG +2 inches. This length is about +5-1/2 inches for 1949-1984 FL models. These front ends are made to fit FXWG models from 1980 through 1983 but will bolt to the following models also: any FL,FX or FXWG big twin frame from 1949 through 1984 when 80-83 style 10" dual disc rotors and calipers are used. Also will mount to 1984-1999 FX or FL Softail frames. Length will be +5-1/2" for FLST and +2" for FXST. Again, 80-83 style brakes must be used. These front ends are great for custom builders, converting FX Superglides to wideglides or converting old FL´s to disc brake or dual disc! Note: Triple trees do not support cowbells. |
