I have been getting 38mpg recently. I don´t think this is normal. I understand that it should be in the range of 39/46 in town and hwy. I possed the same question on this site for mpg.
Yes, the trunk can come off. You will need to develop a wire harness for a quick disconnect. It is time consuming.
