Heat/Sixth Gear

I had a 1992 Electra Glide for a year. My wife and I wanting to get back into riding after the kids up and out! We bought the 1992 and was great but we want the radio intercom, cb and the works. We put about 6K on the 1992 last year. We bought 2007 and love it but they are some problems with the heat from the engine during warm days and slow traffic. There is NO WAY I would take this bike into a parade. I have burnt myself once on the exhaust and very upset that after some searching that I should have done before buying a lot of folks are having the same problems. Go check out the website www.safercars.gov. They are approx 35 complaints on that website but some are from the same people I believe. I love the bike with the exception of heat issues. I have heard of folks spending lots of money to fix the heat issues just find out that it dont work. I heard get fairing, free flow pipes, but others are saying that dont work. Not sure who telling the truth here! At this point I have not had any pinging issues! The sixth gear is great for the road but around town it´s not in the cards if you know what I mean. The bike lugs around 2K RPM at any gear! I have to downshift a lot more than the 1992. To Late but unless something changes this will probably be the last bike I buy! To much money for no one to be concern about your problems!
