I purchased the ´05 Ultra-Classic in April of ´05. This is my FIRST morotcycle and it is the best thing I ever did. There was a learning curve of about 3-4 months where I needed to get used to this bikes weight but now I handle it VERY well. Complaints are only that this bike should come with a beefier engine. I spent the $2,100 to upgrade the engine to the stage I option which increases the low end torque. With the original engine, it was a strain to get the bike to move with a passenger. Yes, I am 250 lbs and with a 160 lb passenger the bike was straining. Now with the upgrade it is NO problem at all - but this is how the bike should have been to begin with. I also had a hydraulic clutch installed. This failed after two days. The replacement has thus far been fine. The reason was to make clutching easier, and after spending the $700 for the hydraulic clutch Harley puts out this thing to make cable clutcing easier! This bike should also come with a backrest which I had to purchase separately. I am now going to order an ´07 Screaming Eagle version of this bike IF harley makes one. This bike is fully optioned and in the long run will actually be cheaper - if you plan on adding stuff like I want. In any case, its the best thing on 2 wheels and I will never own anything less! Best regards - AL |
