Hello Mrboo Concider yourself lucky. The belt drive is great. Less noise, less ajusting and longer life. The downside would be when it is time to change the belt your looking at about a 6 hour job. You have to completely disemble the primary drive and rear swing arm to complete the change. Here is some advice if you ever have to pull the clutch hub assembly. The late model 1985 transmission mainshaft is tapered with a key on the clutch assembly side. Not the prefered spline they have on later models. It is always a good idea to change this key. They do have a tendency to shear on this model HD. Changing the windsheild to an aftermarket type is fairly easy. I suggest you send off for a www.jpcycles.com Parts catalog. They have what your looking for. |
