I purchased my 90 FLHS in 92 with 10,000 miles on her. She now has 55,000 miles and still running great. I have updated with a dyno kit and K&N filter, Andrews EV-27 cam, sportser ignition module and this past summer Caliber true dual exhaust system. I also installed a Krank case vent several years ago. After putting the caliber pipes using the larger exhaust inserts I lost power compared to the stock crossover duals. I then put the smaller inserts in and regained the power but the low end snap is not as good as with the stock. I am also experiencing both sides of my exhaust with the pipes starting to blue/ brown up, only after several thousand miles. The bike does not seem to run lean and I am puzzled as to how to prevent further blueing of the pipes, since they were a little expensive and Samson boasts of them not blueing. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated and I am really happy to have found this site. I plan on riding the old girl for quite a few more years and keeping her in the top shape she is in. thanks Chug-1 |
