Hi 1984 was the first year of manufacture of both the evo 1340 engine and the softail frame. The frame differs from later softail frames, compare the down tubes where the swinging arm fits. The trans and engine fly wheels were left over Shovel items.Some were fitted with diaphram clutch others had spring clutches. I emailed Rivera about belt primary for my 1984 softail a few years ago, they were very helpful. Hope this helps Skully UK |
