I am new to this post.
I too just bought one of these. Pay the Harley Tax. Get rid of the Supertrap and put on Vance and Hines or even Harley Screamin Eagle pipes. Then put the Stage 1 S.E. air cleaner and Dynajet Thunderslide in the carb. This will make a hell of a difference. You´ll notice the power gain. No need to go further unless you plan to run this wide open all of the time.
Try to keep in mind that these bikes are generally not as fast as the metrics out of the box. They are designed to cruise and do so very well. If you wanted a fast HD you should have gotten the XL1200X or even a V Rod.
I kind of doubt your Shadow outruns this bike unless there is a problem with this engine or its tuning.
