The FJ is very heat sensitive. I think that although they are good strong running bikes, many times the wiring harnesses may be deteriorated, specifically the ones running over the top of the engine. There are also some electricaly components right under the seat that may be subject to the heat that flows from the engine. I continue to have these problems as well. You have to remember that unlike the new bikes that the FJ is air cooled. It has an oil cooler on the front that looks like a radiator, but I don´t think it is as efficient as a normal radiator.
