What Other Model & Year Gas Tank & Fenders Will Fit 85 Softail?

I´m hoping someone can help me. I have a 1985 Harley Davidson Softail and over the years the tank and fenders have been damaged. I am looking to purchase a used gas tank & fender set. I´ve heard that between 1985 through 1999, Softail, Fatboy and Dyna parts were interchangable. However I cannot find anything to confirm this.

If anyone can direct me to where I can confirm this information I would appreciate it.
