I think it depends where in the world you live. I have mine insured in the UK for an agreed value of £8,000 with Carole Nash. On the Continent, especially Germany and Scandinavia I am told that I could get more, say £10,000 but that would depend on the condition of the bike. The FXWGs are very much sought after and there are a lot of so-called Wide Glides out there which are actually FXSBs or FXEs with the Glide front end and sheet metal added. The frames are the same for all three ´85/86 swingarm models but the frame number is different. The second pair of letters in the frame number should read "BE" for a Wide Glide. BB is an FXEF, BF is an FXSB. Having the wrong frame number, even if the bike looks the part could affect its value. But if someone wants a good 1985/86 4-speed Evo they will buy it whatever it is.
