I have recently bought a 1986 R-80 Rt this winter with 24,000 miles on it. I spent some time in the basement over the winter cleaning and painting some parts and also brought it to a BMW dealer for a spline lube, and since it was originally a California bike, I had them take off all the pollution crap. I have been having trouble starting it when it is cold, it turns over forever, it will only start with very little choke and no throttle. When it does start, hitting the throttle makes it quit, it has to idle to warm up. I have put about 150 miles on it and it runs fine and starts good when it is warm. My BMW friend has cleaned the carbs. When I pull the plugs they are always dry. it does have new fuel lines and tank is clean. Does any one have suggestions of why this is occurring
