I owned one from 79 to 93 and it was the most reliable bike I ever owned. Very competent in the woods too. It handled great.

I rode lots of the other dual purpose bikes from the 1970s and the late 70s DTs are by far the best. Way better than the KE and TS models not to mention the XLs and others. To me, the earlier model DTs (pre monoshock) felt sort of similar to the Suzuki TS bikes. Not bad, but nowhere near as good as the later monoshock DTs.
