Should I buy 1979 Yamaha XS 400 for $885?

I am test driving a 400 today. It looks like it is in great shape and the owner said it runs well. He had it for $1000 but talked him down to $885. Is this a good bike and is this a good price? I saw the ratings for this bike on this website were not high. Thanks.
