I bought a ´74 XLCH in 1974 and still have it. Needs a little TLC but runs strong. I´m new to this site so forgive me if this is old news... In 1974 we were still running ´leaded´ fuel. When I had the heads ported/polished in the 80´s the valve seals had to be upgraded to accept the new ´un-leaded´ fuels. I also recall a jetting adjustment on the old S&S to run consistently through the power band with open pipes.
Glad I found this site and I´ll be passing thru again soon.
