I would be grateful for people´s help confirming some details about the 1972 Harley-Davidson FLCH1000 Sportster.

I am putting the finishing touches to a book I’ve written about superbikes of the 1970s.

My questions are:

1. How much did the XLCH Sportster retail for in the UK in 1972 (I know it cost $2,025 in the US)?

2. What were the standard colour schemes for the Sportster in 1972?

3. What was the ’72 XLCH’s top speed and average fuel consumption?

Finally, grateful to anyone who would consider letting me use pictures of a completely stock ’72 Sportster for use in my book (pictures that don´t infringe anybody´s copyright!). I would be happy to include full picture credits.
