I recently bought a 1980 R 100 S in Germany, and was shocked to discover how bad the brakes are... both fronts and rears. I asked the local service manager in Bonn if anything could be done, and he said ´no´... that it was BMW´s first attempt at disc brakes and that they just didn´t work that well.

Does anyone out there have an aftermarket solution. I´m willing to spend some money on the bike as otherwise I love it.
