Just picked up a fairly clean R100 1978 It´s missing a gas cap. I´m welding and coating the pin hole original tank to test drive to see if it´s worth going forward with. I recently statred it and ran it on a small Y feed to a temporary fuel canister. It seems to start easily and runs. I am wondering if I should flush or clean the carbs, it sat for several years outside. I am a tinkerer / restorer who hated watching this bike go down hill. I want to put the tank back on with just primer and coating to test run early this spring. Where would I find good used parts, in the connecticut area and are there BMW bike swap meets or periodicals. Any feed back is aprreciated. Henry
