Hello all, I purchased my first bile a year ago, 1978 Honda CB400 Hawk. Rode through the spring and summer, toward the end of the riding season, there were occasions where I would feel a little loss of power and the bike would Stall out and die at lights. This happened just a couple of time, so thought that maybe if just needed to be blown out.
Then one fateful Saturday, I was out riding with a group, we rode probably 20 miles out, then while cruising between 30, 40 mph, it started bogging down and stalling out. We would sit for a few minutes, then it would start out again, this happened a few times until I was able to get it started just long enough to gain speed to get coasting then it would die again (just trying to nurse it to a gas station). Finally it just wouldn´t start again. We made it to a gas station where we parked it and rode back to town to get a truck and trailer.
When we returned, there was fuel visible dripping (probably unrelated??). Got it stared to get into the trailer.
ANY THOUGHTS? I have a couple of friends thinking coils? What else should I look at?
