New guy with question....

Hey guys, I´m obviously new here, hope you guys can help. I don´t have a 400A but a 1978 CB400T but I know they´re so similar as to be almost the same bike, without the automatic transmission. Anyway, I´m converting my bike into a cafe racerish standard but am currently stuck on a couple of things. I just can´t seem to get the exhaust off. I´ve loosened everything there is to loosen but it just won´t come off. I think the main problem is the front pipes just won´t clear the cooling fins.

I´ve also been trying to get the centerstand off (to faciltate getting the exhaust off) but the bottom bolt holding the right side plate, (the aluminum piece that holds the footpegs/exhaust/centerstand) just won´t come off. I tightened it till it won´t go anymore just to make sure I was going the right way and then when I go left, it moves about a quarter turn before it won´t turn anymore. Is there a trick to getting this bolt out?

And lastly, I´m considering taking and leaving off the center stand. I´m used to this as I´ve many modern sportbikes that never came with a center stand. My question is, are there stands available to fit these old swingarms. I´m assuming all the newer stands are too wide. I remember my old Honda MT125R road racer had a nifty little stand that fit under the footpegs. Anybody have or made one to fit a CB400?

Thanks guys, Mario
