CB750K - K7 or K8 ?

I´ve owned a 1978 Honda 750CBK since 1980, when I got it with only 1,600 km on it. I´m still riding it today in 2004, now with 90,000 kms on it. Just a fantastically reliable bike! Can someone tell me how I can determine if my bike is a K7 or a K8, which were apparently both built around that time? The serial no. on the frame doesn´t help. It just says CB750K-2...., and the owner´s manual doesn´t answer the question. The original colour of the tank is a dark maroon. Anyone know ?
