I´ve had an ´82 FXB since ´94. It was black & brown, but has since been re-done in the black & orange paint scheme, but I kept the original tanks/fenders. In the 11 years I´ve had mine, all of the info I´ve been able to gather has led me to believe that all of the ´82s made in the U.S. were black & brown. I think it was the only paint scheme available in ´82, just like black & orange was the only scheme available in ´80, ´81´ and ´91.
