I recently bought my best friends 81 Sturgis. He was the original owner and we had a lot of fun riding together over the years. Now for health reasons he sold it to me. First longer ride the primary belt broke. I have replaced the belt but managed to screw up the compensating sprocket on putting it back together. It´s not that hard a job if you have replaced other primary belts and chains before. Removing the clutch basket is normal. Then the compensating comes off with an impact wrench and a 1-3/4 socket.
