1977 GS 550 Value vs. Chopper project |

My Dad and I have a 1977 GS 550. My Dad purchased it for $200 and It is clean, clean with about 20,000 miles. I got it running and now it runs strong. Nice bike but not sure what to do with it. I had a Yamaha Road Star and I sold it. Quite a difference in bikes obviously but I saw a chopper/bobber project and now Im curious. Not sure if we should try and sell it the way it is (Value?) or if I should try and do a project bike out of it. Hard to find a value on it. I do some welding and have basic mechanic skills but nothing like a rebuilding of carbs or motors. Maybe I could start with it. Any opinions of what I could get out of it or any other websites that might give me some chopping advice and parts idea´s. Thanks Joe |
