I am looking at purchasing a 1980 gs1000g. The previous owner didn´t have spark and cut the main wiring harness next to the battery box a bunch of times. Are the bikes simple enough that I can eliminate the harness and use a toggle switch and push button to start and wire the lights up to one also, or should i replace the whole wire harness. It has been sitting a while and I was thinking of going for the metrochopper look so if it is easy to eliminate the wiring i will. I don´t know if it is possible on thes japanese motorocycles like it is on the harleys. Thanks.
