i had the same problem with my 79 dt 250...actually i broke my foot cause it just reved up all by it self...my problem was worn crank bearings and seals ..it sucked air into the crank case causing the bike to run strictly on oil preasure...check for movement on the crank magneto side if you can move the maggie then replace seals and bearings...need more info email me
