Calibrating the SR 500

I recently purchased this bike. It is in tip top condition, less the 9k miles, but has been sitting for a very long time. I have already purchased a new Ignition coil, and I am still having difficulty getting it started. I was wondering if any one could help me with the calibrating this bike. If there are any other suggestions that might help me get it started, please let me know. Thanks.
