I have another problem that has me stumped. Last winter I overhauled the motor on my 78 650 Special and everything went well on the project. I replaced the old cam with a Weber cam, new valve springs, along with the basic overhaul. Now, the motor performs beautifully, except it has a slight valve clatter that I cant seem to get rid of. The valve gap is on the money, the timing is right on, and the timing chain is at spec. tension. The only other thing I can think of is maybe I´m a tooth off on the timing chain. Your thoughts will be greatly valued. Thanks Ernest Matheron P.S. Thanks for the advice on the electrical, I´m sure the brush´s need to be changed. |
