I was on the freeway and all the sudden i had no gears. It felt like the bike jumped out of gear. But it did not. I took the wheel off and then took the final drive hub off. when i pulled the hub i found a broken snap ring siting on top of the pinon. Would this keep the bike from going in gear? I went to the honda shop today and got a new snap ring I have not got it on the bike yet. They told me that if the drive shaft came just a hair lose that would cause it to not get power to the rear wheel. I looked doen the boot from where the drive shaft goes into the trans and up top its turning but when it gets down to the rear wheel it stops. When i pulled the hub my gears were all ok no meatel shaveing or any signs of gears breaking. I was just wondering if anyone ever had to replace snap rings or the drive joints on these? I will be puting the new snap ring in sunday(2/7) and I will post a update if this turns out to be the problem. I was told by 2 other shops that this could be the problem. If anyone can give me some feed back that would be great. Thanks
