Andy,
The first thing I would do is open up the left side of the bike and inspect all your wiring from the front of the bike to the rear of the bike . The starting system is not that hard , ignition switch , starter switch , coils , resistor , spark plugs , spark plug wires , ignition points , battery , starter relay , 30 amp fuse. Also andy start to get real good with a fluke meter. Good luck and keep writing . Dave , also you will find alot of shops don´t want to work on the older bikes , so its up to you and your friends
