I believe what he´s asking is where to find piston rings. Bikebandit.com had some a few years ago when I replaced mine. The rings came in three sizes, 56mm STD then a .02 and .04 over size. The original size are REALLY hard to get a hold of. They where never intended to be replaced, instead you bore the cylinder and replace with the over size rings and piston. If bikebandit doesn´t have them you can ebay a set, check with a mechanic but the rings go 76-79 then 80-? and make sure you order the right ones. Rings Should run about $40 and Piston is about $70 The cylinders are pretty easy to remove they bolt on to the headers which slides off, then you probably have to pry the cylinder off (at least I did). Also if you´re going to all this work, replace the upper, lower, and exhaust gaskets, the C-clips, and the hex bearing. |
