| i test drove a 1988 Paso. aside form loving the design and the lines that she had, riding it was a bit of a let-down. she sounded really nice with a deep growl that is a signature tune of most Ducatis, but i found it not too comfortable to ride. riding one required the rider to do more leaning than steering, hence, you need to be moving rapidly to love how the bike moves under you. throttle response was so so. the bike i rode had the Webers swapped for Mikunis for reliability. the electricals seemed weak too. in the middle of the day, i could not see the neutral light come on, or any light for that matter. i wanted to buy the bike as an around town bike, and a daily rider, but i don´t think i like the overall rider position in stop & go traffic very much. but if i did buy one, it would surely be for it´s design. Passolini was a luck man to have a nice bike named after him. one worry of mine, i´ve never seen one with too many miles. i own a 1989 FJ 1200 with 62, 000 miles on it and it is stock and clean and strong. so far i have spent NOTHING in repairs except a new battery, tune-ups, new tires, and lots of TLC.oh and light bulbs! can you say that about a Ducati ? |
