Just inherited a 1988 Yamaha Route 66 with 28,000 miles. Starts quick and wil run at advanced speeds but problem with off idle to faster speeds...it bogs and will die. Now, while looking around found a rag stuffed in the frame behind the air filter and the rubber grommet for the carb to frame was off by about half inch. took it out and the bike will not run at all. Put the rag back and it runs again but will not come off ide. Cleaned the carb and jets...does the same thing! Any ideas???
