Hiya, First thing - I love motorbikes (ride a ZZR600) and enjoy every minute. Now the bad points; (1) seat heights (I am 5´8") most bikes are simply too high for me and I know many other women (and men) struggle with this. (2) Clothing - lack of leathers available in the shops, gloves too big etc. You can get ´girlie´ stuff quite easily (think heeled boots) but not ´sensible´ motobike gear (luckily I have big feet and so I can by men ABS boots) Sorry for the moan, but I find these things really frustrating. I am looking to buy a new bike and have tried so many recently, but I am still no nearer to deciding, either the seats are too high, fairing the wrong shape or the tank is too bulbous and get in the way of ones chest! Other than that biking is great and more people should be encouraged (both men and women). It is especailly funny when you stop at the traffic lights and the group of lads in the car at the side of you look amazed when they realise you are a women - and you then wave at them as you accelerate away - the looks on their faces are very funny. Cath. |
