I got a 99 model from a suzuki dealer, secondhand, the dealer assured me that all the re-call mods. had been done. these are the cam chain tensioner, one of the cam chain tensioner blades and the addition of an oil feed pipe from the bottom of the engine to the new cam chain tensioner. I moved house, hence changed to a different suzuki dealer. the wife took the busa to the new dealer for a service while I was at work, she went to collect it later the same day, and they had been told by suzuki U.K. not to release the bike because the mods. from the national re-call had not been done. Suzuki U.K. have stated that the engine could have seized at any time at any speed.THESE ARE LIFE THREATENING MODIFICATIONS!!!!! Hence I have now informed Trading Standards and they are dealing with the matter. IF YOU ARE UNSURE, GET IT CHECKED OUT AND ASK TO SEE THE ENGINE YOURSELF ONCE THE TANK AND THE RIGHT HAND PANEL OF THE FAIRING IS OFF or contact me.
