Braking performance on single disc front Diversion 600´s |

Hi Does anyone know of an effective and relatively inexpensive way to improve the braking perforance on the single disc front ended Diversion 600´s, eg change the disc to a different type of fitting a different make of brake pad? Secondly, does anyone know when in 1998 Yamaha introduced an uprated version of the swinging arm (that apparently prior to that sometimes broke)? All advice much appreciated.
